NEW YORK: Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif held a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
They expressed grave concern on the situation in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, especially the ongoing atrocities and attacks on civilians in two territories by security forces.
Khawaja Asif congratulated the secretary general on his dynamic leadership of the organization, while lauding the role of Arab League in establishing stability within the Muslim World.
On the occasion, Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace especially among the Muslim states. Acknowledging Pakistan’s fraternal relations with Arab League members, the secretary general said that Pakistan could play its role in addressing the challenges confronted by the Muslim world.
